The Great British Bake Off - It's Patisserie time

I think this is my favourite theme in The Great British Bake Off (Series 3 Ep. 9) - PATISSERIE.

Maybe it's because starters are always my favourite part of any meal, particularly with Indian or Chinese food as you can have a little bit of everything.
As with Patisserie I see it as ones favourite puddings in miniature.  Just enough to satisfy that initial craving, but not so much you get bored.

Well once again, Brendan Lynch has done WhyNut proud by using WhyNut products in two of his Petit Fours.  I don't even need to describe how good they were as Mary Berry CBE (Well done Mary on being recognised for your efforts) has given WhyNut some great quotes:

Still loving the drawings by the BBC of Brendan's Petit Fours
Mary Berry's Quote: "You get the real flavour of the nuts coming through
and the pistachio is soft and squidgy, it is a sheer joy to eat.
"

In his Apricot and Pistachio Friands, Brendan has used WhyNut's Peeled Green Pistachio Kernels and WhyNut Pistachio Paste.

Mary Berry's Quote: "The flavour is absolutely lovely, just the right amount of coffee and nut..."
In Brendan's Meringues, he uses WhyNut's Hazelnut Paste.  If I improve my piping skills I shall definitely be trying these ones out.

These Petit Fours just look great.

I may be a bit late getting on the bandwagon, but both James and Danny made some beautiful macarons.
James' Interestingly flavoured Chilli, Lime and Raspberry Macarons.
The judges were very impressed with the flavour combination.

How totally intense, a grape violet food gel was used to achieve the colour.

Finally I am including Brendan's Gateau St. Honore, "A Beautiful Thing" as described by Paul Hollywood.

Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Danny this week, which leaves the final littered with men.  Will it be the risky flavours of James or the very well thought out and crafted classic Brendan.  As you can tell I don't think John is in the running.  But who know what will happen.  Roll on Tuesday 16th October for the FINAL of The Great British Bake Off.
